Krakin Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 Yes that's exactly what i want, a high quality sound that can get pretty loud in the low range. Btw, i listen to rap and house music if that help Most of what was just described has a lot more to do with the enclosure than the actual sub. Yes a quality sub will be better than a cookie cutter sub, but if you throw it in a prefab enclosure instead of a well designed one then you will be upset with the results. Edit: The main point of my posts is to get you educated on what you need to get going. I don't want you to get some stuff and then when you go to put it in your car have no idea what to do. LEVENDIZ Posted August 1, 2013 Author Report Posted August 1, 2013 Hey guys, i've been looking at the Sundown X series 10" sub, i really like the specs and look of the sub.. does anyone have any opinions on Sundown or on the specific range/model?And i'll need an amp to run this sub, what would you recommend?Also.. ahah, will this run off my stock battery?
Krakin Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Sundown is a very great company and that sub would be very nice. An amp that would match that sub great would be the SAZ-1200D The question about electrical is if it will run off your stock alternator as well. That amplifier can pull over 120 amps, most stock alternators can't support that. I would look into getting a High output alternator from some one like Singer, Mechman, or someone else that makes reputable alts. LEVENDIZ Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 Ok guys, i've done some more research and i have realised that i do not want to have to run another battery or change an alternator.. I'm thinking of purchasing a soundstream sub, does anyone have any opinions on this brand?
Watch the bass Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Ok guys, i've done some more research and i have realised that i do not want to have to run another battery or change an alternator.. I'm thinking of purchasing a soundstream sub, does anyone have any opinions on this brand? What´s the problem for you to switch out the factory battery. You thrown out a budget of 1 K for the sub alone. If you want to stay with the factory electrical system. I wouldn´t do more than a 600 watt RMS sub and amp. 1-1.5 K watt´s to the standart car electricity is unpossible without typical sign´s of to less juice. Espacialy european car´s have mostley smaller alt´s than US-car´s. If you realy want to do a 1-1.5 K sub/amp combo, is the best idea the bigger alt. Ask Mechman, Singer or DC Power if there have something like a arround 180 amp alt for your car in there programm. There not this pricey like the real big boy´z. And if you didn´t get a H/O alt, put the biggest baddest batt from XS-Power or Stinger in the original battlocation. I "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty" Bob Marley
