rebel
why running low ohms ? you gain not much!the difference between1and4ohms maybe 3,5db but the stress on the amp is huge and the difference in soundquality is enormus.used to push my subs in 1200w 1ohm then i get a old school amp rated 900w 4ohms rewired my subs huge difference in control and quality i will never reconnect 1ohm again read the Manual for zed audio amps the part MYTHS MAGICS AND FACT

Nikitaaa
A lot of boards are stable at lower ohm loads, and even the ones that aren't usually handle it when the user knows what their doing. For daily listening It's not always beneficial but at the end of the day you'll gain by wiring down. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw

Jessica
I don't know about more cone control, but from what i can tell, anytime you can get more power you have more cone control. Maybe the amp that does 900 at 4ohms just has a stronger power supply then the one that does 1200 @ 1ohm There are a lot of factors here that we don't know about either. Maybe the 1200 watt amp was a shit brand and the old school was not. Maybe the 1200 watt amps was a class D and the 900 was a A/B amp.
