bridging kicker amp below 4 ohms

So I just picked up some new PPI 8's for my doors in my tahoe and on accident the ones I got are 3 ohm speakers, I thought I was getting 4 ohms, but for the deal I got im not mad about that. well my amp for my door speakers is a kicker dx400.4, and it rated for 100 watts per channel at 2 ohms, or 200 watts if bridged at 4 ohms, the 8's are 200 watts rms, so I would like to bridge the amp to give each 8 200 watts. I was about to get a 2nd dx400.4 to have matching door speaker amps so I can run 1 amp just to the 8's and all 4 channels of the 2nd amp to my front 2 doors.

Kicker says they are only stable at 4 ohms bridged, and only stable at 2 ohms per single channel, yet, I currently have 3 4 ohm speakers wired to 1.34 ohms (iirc thats the load) on my front doors on a single channel with no problems for like 8 months now.

Now that I have covered all of that, as I said, sense the 8's are 3 ohms but kicker amps says wire to 4 ohm loads if 2 channels are bridged, would it be safe? I read somewhere you can wire kicker amps a little lower than their rating if you have the extra power, and I have a mechman 270 amp alternator, and 2 extra stinger spv44 batteries in the back. do you guys think that would work fine? or what would you recommend for me to do?

Try at your own risk but I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe you can wire them down lower but is it worth the risk to you for a couple more watts? It might start to get hot and could also start sending bad signals to your subs and damage them little by little.

How many speakers total are you trying to run per channel? Have you checked the final impedance with a DMM?

It may be louder at a reference level but you lose dynamic headroom and it puts more stress on your amp driving it below its recommendation. You might be able to get away with one channel driven below the recommended impedance but once you do it X4 its a different story it now has to dissipate 4 times the heat.

Let me try to explain this better, there are 4 channels.

I want to bridge the amp twice, so instead of it having 4 leads to speakers it would have 2.

The 8" mid bass speakers I got are svc 3 ohm speakers and are 200w rms.

The amp is 2 ohm stable x 4 channels at 100w rms or 4 ohm stable x 4 channels at 50w rms or 4 ohm stable at 200w rms when 2 channels are bridged.

So if I was to bridge 2 channels twice I would have 2 sets of 200w rms channels at 4 ohms.

Sense the speakers are 200w rms and a bridged channel is 200w rms I would want to do that so the speakers get their full power, but sense the speakers are 3 ohm do you think that would be safe to run the amp/speakers like that? I have an upgraded 270 amperage mechman alt and I'm about to get 2 xs d3100's so I will have plenty of power to run the amp.

Do you think the amp would be able to handle that safely or would it hurt the amp and/or blow the speakers?

Gotcha so each bridged channel would see a single 3ohm load. Might work just monitor how hot your amp gets and how quickly.
