Please check my wiring diagram

ditch the distribution blocks, and distribute everything from the back battery, you dont have that many wires to need them.

as far as the fuses... FUSE TO WHAT THE WIRE NEEDS. if the wire can only carry 150a, but the amp wants a 250a fuse, wire it with a 150a fuse, so the fuse will pop before the wire starts melting on you.

#1 So if my power wire grounds out, the front fuse pops, and the rear battery has juice in it, what would stop the power from traveling back through the power wire from the second batt to where the power grounded? Or are you saying it doesnt matter?

#2 The amp calls for a 200 amp fuse. I will definitely add one between the second batt and amp tomorrow. I know the 4gauge is too small for this fuse size but itll have to do for a little while. Im mainly just concerend with why the fuse right before the second battery is "useless"?

Also, since my hifonics calls for a 200amp, and i also have a smaller soundstream amp in the mix, should i upgrade the front fuse to something bigger than 200?

#1, once the first fuse popped, if that popping fuse didn't break the circuit, the next consecutive fuse would pop until the there was no longer any juice flowing between the sources positive and negative (source being the battery(s)). [meaning, if there are multiple fuses in the path of the short, it will blow the smallest fuse first, most likely ending the short]

#2, the fuse before the second battery isnt useless, it protects surge from the back going to the front battery, so if anything happens in the back with the rear battery, the power wire fuses to the amps will pop (hopefully saving the amps), and the rear battery fuse will pop (hopefully saving any harm to the front battery), leaving all shorting to the rear battery until its circuit is no longer shorted or working.

#3, The fuse at the front battery should be big enough for the wire's carrying capacity to the rear battery, so if you have an amp with 150a of fusing, and the other has 50a, then you will want a 200a fuse, BUT if the wire from the front to rear cant sustain that, you will need to upgrade the wire so it can carry 200a successfully to the rear. same goes for all other cables.

lastly, i would upgrade the soundstream amp up to 4ga (you can swap the hifonics wires over), and upgrade the hifonics to 1/0 CCA or better. Other than that, the 2/0 positive lead, and 2/0 grounds for the batteries are sufficient for what you are using.

First, did you look up or have amp specs? They should list fuse sizes needed, no?

Your 2nd fuse serves you no purpose because there is already one between front battery and everything else.

At minimum I would fuse between 2nd battery and amp, and add one somewhere on the 8 ga wire.

What is the rating on your alternator?

not true at all. The second fuse serves the SAME purpose the front fuse does in reverse. look at this scenario.....

Yeah, I corrected myself later telling him he did need a fuse by each battery. I was up past my bedtime, what can I say?
