Recommended Posts

ok so ive seen alot of 4ths and a few sixth orders in life and on here. ive seen it talked about but never seen a 8th order build. is there a reason?

id also like to know what the pros, cons, and uses or environments of each box would be if that makes sense

sealed, ported, isos, 4th, 6th, 8th

sorry if its a noob question but i just want some better info

now for the challenge.

design a 8th order box that is possible correct in tuning and everything for an Fi BL 18

if possible provide a graph showing the dB@given hertz

good luck to anyone who tries and thanks for the help

i will render it if someone gets one designed

this is purely for fun

if anyone is ambitions can you design a 4th and sixth and graph them too?

thanks guys

deja vu I was jus talkin about a 8th order bandpass box I have the concept of building one just like a 6th order except you have a port in the middle connecting both chambers

here for example a random 15 you would make one chamber lets say 3 cubes @ 30 hz and the other chamber 1.5 cubes @ 30 hz then you will have a port in the middle of the 2 chambers which will allow air flow and allow the second chamber to act as a resonance chamber which at this point a second tuning freq develops higher then the lower one i.e either 57hz or 67hz

I have to say the same thing as in a 6th order there really good for just straight SPL but then again you will have distortion if your not carful and you wont hear it till you smell you voice coils there are no exact specs for these type of boxes its all trial and error my advice for any band bass box is to go out and buy very cheap ass subs to train on so you can figure out how they work so you don't build one and think O it sounds good well yea it will sound good cus the distortion is being baffled out just do lots of research on these I don't want to see any one blow subs if you don't now what your doing don't try it stick with regular sealed and ported boxes and also I recommend buying the smd dd1
