321slapinbass
singer 250A alt. transpo 911-02r regulator. I'm installing this regulator on my 00 Durango. I wired everything up perfectly fine except im having problems with wiring the field wire. this is the two wire plug on the back of my alt. I have no problem identifying the field wire (2). ok so in the the vids I have watch the people installing this regulator have a two wire plug similar to mine but there plug has a field and a ground. the problem is that my plug has a field and a positive source. this is where im stumped.... im not sure how to wire this plug up to the regulator because I have a positive on mine instead of a negative like in the vids 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos
321slapinbass
when looking at the plug you see wire 1 (+) and wire 2 (field). I know where to wire the field, but should I keep wire 1 connected to the factory harness or connect it to the positive terminal on top of the regulator? 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos

bbeljefe
For future reference, Singer is a very friendly and helpful guy and just because you bought the alternator used doesn't mean he doesn't want his products working properly in the field. I've never bought anything from him but he has still been very prompt and helpful the few times I've emailed him with questions. Guest DC Power Kyle
Its bi-directional. Pick one as a ground and the other as a field and you're done.
