Austin42156
And my amp is in a very open location with the fan having a lot of open space to blow out into. - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am - 5.7 LT1 V8 - Kenwood Excelon x998 Deck - JL Audio XR650-CSI 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers (In My Doors) - Crescendo Audio PWX 6.5" Mid Ranges (Right behind my seats) - (1) Kenwood KAC-9105d Monoblock Amplifier - (1) Kenwood X450/4, 4 Channel Amplifier - (2) Kenwood W3013ps 12" Subwoofers - Amps tuned with O-scope. - Stinger Roadkill Sound Deadening - F.A.S.T Rings by Mobile Solutions - Phoenix Gold and Stinger wiring
Jessica
Each sub should see 450. I can't see your SIG on mobile so I can't comment on that part. Austin42156
Okay, cool. So if my monoblock is putting out 900, 450 to each sub. Would it be a good idea to drop the load to 1 ohm so I can get more power? Each subwoofer can handle up to 1200 watts or at least that what the manual says. - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am - 5.7 LT1 V8 - Kenwood Excelon x998 Deck - JL Audio XR650-CSI 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers (In My Doors) - Crescendo Audio PWX 6.5" Mid Ranges (Right behind my seats) - (1) Kenwood KAC-9105d Monoblock Amplifier - (1) Kenwood X450/4, 4 Channel Amplifier - (2) Kenwood W3013ps 12" Subwoofers - Amps tuned with O-scope. - Stinger Roadkill Sound Deadening - F.A.S.T Rings by Mobile Solutions - Phoenix Gold and Stinger wiring
Jessica
those subs handle 400 watts. I don't think i would trust them with more than that. Since you have two 4 ohm subs you can only go down to 2ohm. That amp does 900 at 1ohm and 900 at 2ohm Think of it like fosgates bdcp technology, the kenwood is desiged to work like that so you can wire lower and not worry about box rise as much. Austin42156
From what I have been told by people at Kenwood when I called them. There are jumpers inside my amp that automatically bring down the load to 2 ohms. - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am - 5.7 LT1 V8 - Kenwood Excelon x998 Deck - JL Audio XR650-CSI 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers (In My Doors) - Crescendo Audio PWX 6.5" Mid Ranges (Right behind my seats) - (1) Kenwood KAC-9105d Monoblock Amplifier - (1) Kenwood X450/4, 4 Channel Amplifier - (2) Kenwood W3013ps 12" Subwoofers - Amps tuned with O-scope. - Stinger Roadkill Sound Deadening - F.A.S.T Rings by Mobile Solutions - Phoenix Gold and Stinger wiring
Austin42156
The wiring for my subs is not wired like people normally have to do for parallel wiring. All wires go straight to the amp. I was told by Kenwood that I am getting a 2 ohm load. - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am - 5.7 LT1 V8 - Kenwood Excelon x998 Deck - JL Audio XR650-CSI 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers (In My Doors) - Crescendo Audio PWX 6.5" Mid Ranges (Right behind my seats) - (1) Kenwood KAC-9105d Monoblock Amplifier - (1) Kenwood X450/4, 4 Channel Amplifier - (2) Kenwood W3013ps 12" Subwoofers - Amps tuned with O-scope. - Stinger Roadkill Sound Deadening - F.A.S.T Rings by Mobile Solutions - Phoenix Gold and Stinger wiring
Jessica
And you will continue to get a 2 ohm load with those sub. You can't wire any lower. Austin42156
What If I were to cross the wires and wire the subs up like you regularly would for parallel. And have the jumper on the amp like normal. Wouldn't this bring the load to 1 ohm since your splitting it two different times? - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am - 5.7 LT1 V8 - Kenwood Excelon x998 Deck - JL Audio XR650-CSI 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers (In My Doors) - Crescendo Audio PWX 6.5" Mid Ranges (Right behind my seats) - (1) Kenwood KAC-9105d Monoblock Amplifier - (1) Kenwood X450/4, 4 Channel Amplifier - (2) Kenwood W3013ps 12" Subwoofers - Amps tuned with O-scope. - Stinger Roadkill Sound Deadening - F.A.S.T Rings by Mobile Solutions - Phoenix Gold and Stinger wiring
Jessica
i don't know what jumper you are talking about. I remember the kenwood 921 had a ohm load switch on it. you see in this manual screen shot. But the 9105d does not have this that i am aware of. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/286575/Kenwood-Kac-921.html?page=11#manual Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. CleanSierra
You SINGLE voice coil subs can only "ask" for a final loaf of 2 ohms or 8 ohms. There is nothing you can do to get a different ohm load achieved: You're welcome Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
