Brandonbkd Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 So I know every car has a different resonate frequency and all. But would that have a big effect on the tuning of your box? For instance, I've got 2 different boxes designed to go in the back of my explorer, both of which were supposed to be tuned to 33 and 31, and for some reason they BOTH sound more like they are tuned around 40. Could this just be a crappy box design or could this be partly due to the resonate frequency of my car?? ChevyBoy95 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 i think it is either a port size issue, or cabin gain issue, but a cabin gain issue wouldnt make it sound bad, just quieter, that is why i mainly think it is the port. tuning to 31 doesnt mean 31 will be your peak. box specs?
