LoudBimmer
Here's the problem. PC is Gateway zx4971 and every time I try to turn it on the windows xp loading screen will come on for couple of seconds and then the blue screen will flash and PC restarts. I tried to reinstall the windows xp, but before the installation even begins, the blue screen pops up. I tried to swap hard drives, 3 different once and it didn't help. Tried taking memory sticks out. There are 2 of them in here, so I took one out didn't work, put another one in, didn't work. So I know for sure that memory and hard drive are working. What else can I try or is it fixable for a reasonable amount?
BoomZoom808
Are you using 64bit OS or 32? could be your issue. Just did a quick search not sure of your exact model but you need a 64bit OS drivers sometimes are not compatible from 64 back down to 32. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON
LoudBimmer
Well, the original hard drive is requiring a Windows 7 installation CD which I don't have. So I tried to install the Windows XP on it, but it give me the blue screen before installation begins. I also tried to use the hard drive with windows vista and it also won't start with blue screen flash.
Raptorman
If your operating system wasn't installed with the current hardware of the computer you're using, sometimes it will fail to boot. Good example. I switched out my motherboard in my custom PC. Computer would BSOD just like you said, a few seconds after boot. Reinstalling the operating system fixed it.Something with the operating system "optimizing" for that specific hardware or some shit. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. LoudBimmer
yea, I put CD drive first when installing XP. I can't get the bsod code because screen flashes quickly. I also ran a system test or whatever it's called and everything passed fine.
