Tdawgthegreatest Posted September 13, 2013 Author Report Posted September 13, 2013 Thats the website that told me to enter a smaller number if the port was too long for the box. And I ended up with a 5x4x12" port because of that.
CstrokerV Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 you are going to have to bend the port no getting around that to get proper area my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
Tdawgthegreatest Posted September 13, 2013 Author Report Posted September 13, 2013 So how did steve get away with his 8.5x6x14" port for his box? I mean I get his box has more cubic footage than mine...but still.
CstrokerV Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 So how did steve get away with his 8.5x6x14" port for his box? I mean I get his box has more cubic footage than mine...but still. not sure i would have to look at the build again ... his box size and tuning i would assume.... hes tuned to 38 hz so hes tuned higher then you are my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
Tdawgthegreatest Posted September 13, 2013 Author Report Posted September 13, 2013 So I'm still not seeing how I can fit a port into this box then, without it being like 50" long. Which isn't going to work at all. Beings as this is as big as the box can be.
CstrokerV Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 so is the box 3 cubes after displacment of port and sub ? if not the box is too small anyway.... and if you cant go bigger on the size of the box you are pretty much s.o.l in building a proper box for that sub.... why cant you go bigger? my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
Tdawgthegreatest Posted September 13, 2013 Author Report Posted September 13, 2013 The box is 3.3 cubes after the displacement of the sub. Where the box sits is in between the shock towers with 1/8" on either side, has 4 inches in front of the port from the back seat, and cant go farther back due to the angle of the hatch. and can't go higher because its only 2" away from the glass on the hatch.
mrd6 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Did you already buy the sub? Sounds like you dont have room for a 15. One twelve would be the way to go. My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
audiA6_audio Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 cut out another on the other side, box is already built so fuck it. you prob wont be ideal but it would be closer i suppose. Get your max dimensions/sub info/amp info and ask around for a box design. theres some decent guys on here that could help you out. better than polishing a turd :/
audiA6_audio Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 also consider porting outside of the box. it might not look as stealthy but a aero port sure is a thing of beauty
