TylerParrish Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 I'm thinking about making a little sealed box for my iDMax in the rear quarter panel of the trunk....possibly getting another one for the other side. Now I have never glassed, been around it or anyone that knows how (except my dad, but I live nowhere near him). What's the best place to buy from, how should resin be used, do I need to use resin, any and all help is appreciated. Jessica Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 MiX a 1 ounce test batch per label first. Just let it sit and see howong it takes to gel up. That way you don't mix too hot and make up 8 ounces and waste half of it. I get my resin from Walmart and it works just fine. You could get sun flash but its pricey on the shipping due to hazmat Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. mbdblue Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 As for method man, just look around the fiberglassing and fabrication section of the forum. Lot of different ways to do it.....and make no mistake, there is a difference in quality resin and filler. I order all my stuff from us composites. You can use bondo brand but it's no where near as good. I've found it sets up way too fast and it's more brittle. RidingTooLow Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Yes always do a test batch and use new fresh resin. Don't reuse some 3 year old shit off the garage shelf. Walmart and autozone and lowes resins work fine.
