CleanSierra Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I'll be painting my enclosure in a hammered black finish. I have an amp rack where the two amps will be frenched in and recessed. Since the enclosure will well be hammered black paint, should I take my front covers off of the amps and use that same hammer finish on them? I'm not worried about resale, and I could always repaint them back to factory black. Here is the beginning of how the amp rack will look. I would like to hear your guys' opinions on this. Should I paint them with the hammer finish and same color? Maybe hammer finish in a different color do they kind of POP? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
shogen Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 what does the hammer finish look like? got a test spray done on anything?? CleanSierra Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 Lets check, I did the port on my blowthrough on the inside of the port in a silver hammer finish. It basically looks like hammered metal. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
shogen Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I think a black hammered finish on the amps would look sexy... do you have any highlight colors you're using on the truck? CleanSierra Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 I don't have a picture of the black hammered finish. You can see the texture of the hammering on the edge of that port. The black looks good, I did a test spot on the enclosure and it looks pretty good. I didn't snap any pics, I should have. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
DylanBunch Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 is the lettering on all power amp black? never noticed it on my t1000 lol 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
CleanSierra Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 is the lettering on all power amp black? never noticed it on my t1000 lol Mine is, yes. I took a little acetone and wiped off the white or whatever color it used to be. So the reason you haven't noticed it on yours is because yours is still White. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Noel989 Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Have you considered plasti dip? Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
CleanSierra Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 Have you considered plasti dip? Im not really looking good that kind of finish from the Plasti. I was thinking more to compliment the finish of the enclosure. Good suggestion though, thank you for it Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Lifted2000Ford4x4 Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 i personally would do my amp rack the same color as your blow through, just to match, and i would paint my amps another color, to give it that wow factor. just me tho. any way im sure will look good.
