1999explorer Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 alright everyone i recently purchased 2 RE Audio 18" SX-18D2 Subwoofers. I didnt have the money to buy a big amp so i used this pioneer one i had (Pioneer GM-D8601), but today i was listening to my subs pretty loud and one of the 18's blew i need a recone kit but cant seem to find one anywhere can someone help me find one to buy, and also can someone tell me the amp i should be using to run these 18's with no problems like under powering them or over powering them? thank you so much everyone for the time to help me.
john253a Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 No sub in the entire world has blown due to under power So you either running that amp at 0.5 or 2 ohm Either way at 1/4 -1/2 it rated power you must be clipping them like hell And because you have d2 you'll either need to run 0.5 or 2 So 2 it is And that makes all your amp choises close to 1k as you'll want something around 3.5@1 So look at the bc3500, q1-3500, dc3500 sax3500 The q1-3500 would be 1 of the cheaper amps around that's has some quality to it
john253a Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Forgot to add the zx series of kicker at all 2ohm so anything at 2 And the T series from rf are rated the same at 2 and 1 ohm But with the gear you have now You'll want in pro installed and setup Because your earOmeater is way off
