MARKMC@GMAIL Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 Right now I currently have a hifonics brx2400 and 2 kicker l7 dual 2ohm 12's. But when I get my vehicle I'm gonna have a kicker 2500 amp and aftermarket alternator. Should I get a 300 amp alternator and what battery should I get exactly looking at xs batteries.
Jessica Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 With that amp if you get a 300amp alt you will only need one batttery. Just make sure to do the big 3. Even a stock battery would cover it. If you want a better battery and want the best you can get for the money get whatever XS is a direct fit replacement for you vehicle. For a cheaper alternative, and if it will fit. a Deka group 34 is a good deal at around $160. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. HHR Ed Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 Going 14V or 16V takes a lot of customization to the electrical. For reliability, ease, and budget I recommend staying 12V. Also, alternator size depends on what is available, what your budget is, and what batteries and power level you choose. So you are going to have a 2500w amp. This will consume about 3500W. One big battery such as an XS Power D3100 can handle that. Or a smaller battery for the engine and a 2nd, supplemental battery. So even if you have 2 big batts. An alternator around 200-270A will do wonders. MARKMC@GMAIL Posted October 1, 2013 Author Report Posted October 1, 2013 I wanted to go with a second battery just for my amp in the back. Just want to make sure I get the right battery and alternator to have my system running smooth and not destroying anything. I'm trying to go with the cheapest but has real good quality
