amp level,bass eq

First of all let me start by stating I have no dd1.with that being said I was reading my zrx3000.1d owners manual and it said to adjust the level on my amp to the voltage output of my radio.it also states that it is not recommended to exceed the 12 o clock position on the bass eq which would be 5db.I would like to get some knowledgeable input on this topic! Gain is also known as, Input level adjustment.

Your deck will put out a small voltage signal through the RCAs. For cheap head units, this can be 1-2V. For good head units, it can be 4-8V.

So you can look in your manual to see what they spec.

The gain knob on the amp will be adjusted to accept this level of input. There may be markings on the gain knob at some point. You can estimate a little to match it correctly.

If you have a Multi meter that can read AC voltage. test your deck's output to see what it actually is.

The Bass EQ almost always adds distortion. It is centered usually around 45hz. You can also check the manual for that. So be careful with it and use your ears.

Let me be more specific I have the Pioneer deh x6500 bt which has an rca output of 2v.and the amp bass eq is 45hz.so my question is if I set my amp level/gain to 2v would the dd1also set the gain around the same level? Or will it vary depending on where the bass eq is set at?

It can vary depending on the bass EQ. It can vary depending on your bass and loudness setting on the deck.

The 2V gain setting is based on flat signal. Meaning no filters and no boosts.
