My worst fear about mounting my subs has been the drill slipping & hitting the surround. I introduce to you my friends The Speaker Saver! Made from cast aluminum this product comes with a lifetime limited warranty. It promises to protect your rubber surround while you drill your pilot holes. Not only am I the president but I am also a client. It’s just a cheap pan from Walmart, good day people!!

I know that in the description of the sundown x series that they are low frequency drivers and do not expect to have them excel at high frequency bass notes. what is considered high frequency for this sub because everyone has a different definition of what a high frequency bass note is. my crossover is set to 85 hz give or take a few hz. Thanks Greg

Hi all I have just bought two 12 Alpine type r 12d2s 1000 RMS each. I am looking to put them in ported enclosure but need help on what size to use. I'm looking for deep loud and low bass with the best frequency respose possible. I am able to fit a 4 cubic foot box in my trunk after port displacement and sub displacement. Also if I tune to say 32hz will I get enough bass upwards of 45hz or will it start to roll of/ Also what size port should I use I was thinking 3 inch wide 12 high does port size affect frequency response such as making the response shorter or longer.

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and would appreciate all the feedback I can get! Decided to go with sundown because of all the positive reviews and great community! Anyways I want to build something that will give me the bump I am looking for in my daily driver. I had 2 15 kicker l7s previously with rated rms. This will be for a 2012 chevy Tahoe with alot of room to work with. After tons of research I have decided I really like the X series. I am thinking about ordering 2 x15's with an either sundown4000.1 or the skar 4500.1 (little cheaper) (student loan life) and building a custom

My good friend Aaron, aka Psyph Morrison, has never had a real system in any of his cars before. If you don't know who Psyph is (pronounced Sife), look him up on itunes, spotify or any other music app out there. Youtube as well. I have known him over 10 years and even worked with him on his last 3 albums as an executive producer. Ok, now that is out of the way, the reason he is getting a system is because well, the entire time i have known him and worked with him making music, especially music with a lot of bass, he has never had a system of his own. I don't know anyone who has had more ca

Battery Under hood or In Trunk?
CanUFeelMe posted a topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Ok, I'm looking into buying either a XS D2700 or an XS D3100 battery.... Issue is that I am only allowed one battery in the class that I am running. I can barely fit the D2700 in the stock battery location, and the D3100 is way to big to fit. Question is: Should I just deal with the D2700 and keep it in the Stock location, or go with the bigger D3100 and just put a distrobution block under the hood and run the battery in the trunk? Thanks guys -
aye wasup everyone! Its BeetzBum in this B%*ch, but you can call me Beetz for short! I'm new to the forum but have been following SMD on youtube for a bit over a yr now... I'm a hip hop music producer as well as a bass junkie. Im looking to link up with ppl and share my music with you all. Find me on youtube and get some FREE downloads! I currently dont have a car anymore so i unfortunately dont have the opportunity to hear my music on some nice bass. If any of you would like to do some demo's with my beats or songs please feel free to do so I would LOVE to see them! here is a link to my playl

These go under the massive center channel and 10' tall line array mains. He's known for going overboard, but the moment someone says he'll never use what he has to its potential.....they find out he aint skeered! Cool if ya dig it.

So here's the deal guys, i've got room for 2 12's (but one higher quality one would be ok) and their corresponding box, the amp, and all the wiring. I need to know for about 1400 bucks what is the best complete setup combo(not powered subs , just individual components) that i can get for loud bass that still adds to sound quality. Anything you got would be fine, just need to know the subs and what to rms power them with all for 1400 bucks

I'm very impressed with the quality of the Skar VVX series. I definitely haven't been disappointed. For only two 12s in a Full size SUV there is decent flex and air movement. I have them on just a HiFonics Hfi1000.1 D So they are not getting even the 600RMS each they are recommended. Plus If I'm careful I could probably put 750 to 1000 watts on each sub and they would take it easily. These subs can definitely take a beating and they love hitting nasty lows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzT9-IlwbhY
