JustinWillmon Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 Hey guys, gonna be redoing the setup in my dads 69 camaro here soon. Right now it has a 10" Alpine type R ran off a kicker 750.1. When i originally did the install i built a false floor, and the box and everything, but this time around im going to be redoing it all. Only thing staying will be the false floor. What would you recommend for the sub setup in this car? Not really looking for brands more or less what size and how many. Its a convertible as well, so i cant port through the rear deck or anything. But i was thinking maybe 8's or going with 2 10's. Just really looking for suggestions on what to do, to keep it looking nice and clean, and not over the top.
Krakin Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 Is the trunk connected to the cabin? Or a completely different partition? Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
JustinWillmon Posted October 5, 2013 Author Report Posted October 5, 2013 Well when the top is up the only thing in between the two is a type of vinyl and then when you put the top down you have the vinyl top in between the trunk and the cabin. Right now its just the single 10" in a ported box tuned to 34 hz. Sounds decent but I don't like the box, has to port noise, so im planning on redoing the system completely. Gonna deaden the trunk and the trunk lid and re-run wiring and add a second battery to the rear and then add beauty panels to whatever I build. Just want something that sounds good, but also a clean setup for showing off and everything. Reallly been looking at "Kingsuv's" build log of the green Camaro, to get some ideas.
john253a Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 You'll need to post what size you have to work with And if u can a pic of the floor so we can see what u have to deal with.
