scratchy
Ok, so im almost ready for finals. I wanted to connect my subs to 0.5 ohm today, but came accross a little problem. Ive got 2 dual 2 ohm subs, so I hooked them up to 0.5 ohm. When I wanted to connect them to the amp, I saw that my amp looks to have 2 cahnnels. I know its not two channels but it still has two +'s and two -'s How should I connect the subs? Quote then im rambo bitch
SPLGEO
its not but you can hook one sub up to one set and the other to the other set and it will connect them internally Quote 1995 Geo Prism . SPLGEO
wire each at 1 ohm..... the run each sub to the amp it will bridge it internally.. or you could bridge it and run it to just one + and one - Quote 1995 Geo Prism . mrwigglezdj
youre amp is a mono amp, even tho it has 2 + and 2 - doesnt mean much , on the inside of the amp both of the + are joined together and both of the - are joined together , so wire your subs up in the box to the ohm load you want (if you will run that load 100% of the time or you can run all 8 wires out of the box, then connect the wires how ever you have to , so you can get different ohm loads for different purposes, but just ingore one of the +- on the amp and youll be fine wont hurt anything now or down the road :^ Quote Americas loudest work van2006 iasca heavyweight bassboxing champion at 150.4 db with 60second average TL8 memphis PR15s,12 memphis PR6.5's coax,4 memphis PR 1inch tweets
scratchy
but can you maybe draw me a diagram of how to wire it?! Quote then im rambo bitch
Charger
Ok mate. Wire both sub's voice coils in parallel like this: Now each sub represents a single 1 ohm load. Now, your amp has a pair of output terminals, it is still a monoblock. That pair is actually wired in parallel anyway so it makes no difference really. Just wire each sub to a corresponding + and - (One per terminal if you will). Viola! you now have an amp seeing a .5ohm load. Be careful with how many speaker cables you have coming out of your enclosure, you may get bumped up a class due to the conductor rule. Charger
PS: The diagram you drew was for a .5ohm load.
