Pierce Barrett Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 I'm running two Arc Audio KS 1200.1's each at a 2 ohm load on 4 Sundown SA8v2's D2's. Each amp is running two subs. I hooked the amps up on Friday, one slave one master. I bumped it all weekend and beginning of this week, well on my way home today I was listening to my music about where it's always at (volume wise) and all three of my amps (Arc KS 1200.1's and my Infinity 4 channel) into protect. So I turned off my truck and started it again, all 3 still in protect. I have a stock alt (130 amp) and only one battery which is under the hood. Could this be a voltage drop problem? If so why would they work for a few days and then now not come out of protect? pa-pa-platypus Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 go through and double check all your connections... my guess is a ground came lose or needs redone better.. but id double check ALL connections first This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned 151.6 with single 12 at 41 hz 153.2 with 2 12's at 43 hz power: dd m4

Sergeant_Skyrim Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Do you have an actual volt meter that works properly? Had a sort of similar situation happen to me when I had my old Stinger volt meter. It finally broke but kept reading as if my voltage was fine when really I ended up draining my XP3000 battery in the trunk and my amp kept protecting for short periods. Found out the batteries were really down around 11.5 volts when car was off. Build in progress

Sergeant_Skyrim Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 No I mean an actual volt meter constantly hooked up in the vehicle. That way you can see your voltage when you're at idle, when you're driving, when you're listening to music etc. I don't know about anybody else but I personally will never run any sort of audio system no matter how weak it is without a volt meter to tell me what my voltage is at. You said that all of the amps protected at the same time. I'm guessing that your voltage could've dropped really low and sent your amps into protect. I'm no expert on this so don't take it as fact however. I do recommend getting an in-car voltmeter like the SMD VM-1 to constantly know your voltage and prevent any voltage-related issues in the future though. Hopefully some other people can chime in with other solutions to check in the mean time Build in progress
