soundstream15 Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 this seems like a silly question, but i thought about turning my box around, toward trunk but not sure if its gonna work. my box is 20D i have a flared 6" port that sticks out 3.5" so total box would be 23.5" the port would be almost 2" away from the back of the trunk, i just dont wanna choke the port. was not sure if it had to be so many inches away for it to breath
Brandonbkd Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 I think you wanna do at least the port width away from any wall or in your case the trunk FI BL18 Build Log: CLICK HERE!! 2003 Explorer Sport: FI BL18 SoundQubed 2200 at 0.7ohm Pioneer DEH-2500UI Pioneer 6 x 8s Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9s 5 ft^3 box at 35hz Lots of Mega Mat

DubNDodge Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 Yes generally you want it the port width away from the back of the trunk. But you won't know for sure unless you test it out. LoudBimmer Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 half the port length for the trunk set up.
soundstream15 Posted October 21, 2013 Author Report Posted October 21, 2013 Ok, I'll go ahead and turn it around. It's sealed off but there's still air getting in the trunk and can't figure out why, tired of pissing with it
81000D Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 Check where the trunk hinges connect to the car. Huge air leak culprit depending on the car.
