Bence
Can someone point me in the right directoin to learn about frequency responses? I don't understand what 24db per octave and 12db per octave mean. What slope means? I don't have any issues reading to learn I just need something that starts from the real basic's and explaines so that I can understand. You know.. the whole frequency responses for dummies idea Thanks.

SQ SUBARU
The db of the crossover determines how sharp the cutoff "rollsoff" 48 db is like a cliff, 12db is a gradual slope. So "x" amount of db roll off after the crossover frequency, PER OCTAVE. So for example if I have my crossover at say 80 hertz for my subwoofer, and choose a 12 db slope ( which means from 80 hz the frequency will roll off 12 db per octave. So 80 hz, one octave above that is 160hz, so at 160 hz the frequency won't be as loud because it's 12db less. If u don't understand or want me to do a write up I can on crossover points frequencies etc Ipad mini as main source unit, w/ Kenwood KDC-U7056BT,Digital Designs CS6.5 2 way components, Alpine PDX-F4 4 channel & PDX-M6 mono, x1 Jbl P1224 12", single ported box @ 34hz, front doors + trunk sound deadened w/ dynamat xtreme, all knukonceptz wiring/fusing. *In progress - Audison bit ten d dsp, fully optical.
