carshateme
Okay, so I haven't been posting lately and this is why. Went to a show and found out immediately that since my amp was in the trunk, there was no air flow to cool the amp down. Was heading up to the show and it literally got thrown into protect from thermal. Touched the bitch and it melted off some skin..so couldn't really do much about that. Also found out my entire electrical was wrong. So everything got torn out. (This is what I get for listening to the wrong people) Another wonderful thing happened! Found out since my box was designed for 2 totally different subs...instead of peaking at 34hz, I was peaking at 28hz. No thank you. Kept wondering why I was killing the lows, but was not loud. Another reason for taking everything out. Found out my right vent inside my trunk was leaking water as well at the outer top metal from the top of my trunk. Fixed that up really fast. Water almost got to one of my amps, but thankfully didn't. So all the water leaks are fixed, even ran my car under a hose for a good 5 minutes. No leaks..so I'm good on that part. So to solve my overheating issue, I decided to build a boxed in amp rack. This will also contain two 210cfm fans. Orginal idea was 2 fans on each side, but found out it was too wide. (Also wanted to put it on my back seat so I could fold it up. Found out that would work either since the fans are 8x8s. So since the box is only 9" high, gonna put it in sideways in the trunk after testing the best position for the box in my trunk. The new box, built and designed by Woofer Wizards because I just didn't have the time. Built specifically for my subs and tuned to 43hz Yeah, those are the fans. Neon blue LED. 210CFM. Amp rack for both my AA 3800.1 and PPI 900.4. I'm ripping off the side wall that is uneven and placing a Acrylic glass on the side to display the amps and LEDs. Here's a side shot of it. Got 2 of these right now, just ordered 1 more for the back battery bank. Gonna be selling the xs925 and upgrading it to a 70ah battery. Dunno when or what battery I'll get. If you can't read what the battery is. It's a powerstar 70ah. I just ordered 2 runs of 75ft 2/0 EB flex welding wire. One red, one black. Going to be running 2 runs of positive and neg from the front to the back. New build coming soon. carshateme
It's been a while. Been waiting on all my stuff to get built, come in, or financing. I'll start off by saying the box I had designed was peaking at 28hz. Had a new box built by woofer wizards, had to tuned to the FS of my car which is 43~44hz. Uhh, Bought some new wiring. 2/0 gauge EB flex welding wire. Redid the entire electrical. Bought 3 powerstar 70ah batteries. Built an amp rack with 200mm fans @ 210CFM. 8 gauge knukonceptz wiring, distribution block. Nothing is done yet. Gonna get stuff finished up tomorrow once I wake up. Had a buddy of mine from team wooferwizards help me with the 2/0 gauge wiring. I ran 2 runs of positive and negative, front to back. Unfortunately my boot was only 3/4" and I could not drill a bigger hole, so we resorted to running the wiring under the car using pvc piping. Works. Taking out the old box. It's always fun trying to remove a box that you intended to be steal proof. The new home for the Ethos Always take pictures of your christmas gifts. To show you how big these fans are. That is my seat. That's two of em The amp rack will have acrylic glass on top. My 3800 will be laying on the bottom, while the PPI will be in the middle.Perfect fit. Had extra paint, decided to waste it.Too much blue, it was hurting my eyes, so I had some spare carpet laying around.Mind that this is my 2nd time ever carpeting a box Decide I needed more windows decal..so there they are. Picture of the amp rack fans. Black is back. Adding them extra deebeez New build coming soon. carshateme
Got em' Eb flex welding wire $299 for 75 ft red 75 ft black. Cannot go wrongYeah, ran it out of the air vent in the trunk, since it wasn't gonna stop leaking water, might as well seal it up..but can always use it to run wire :thumbsup:Had to relocate some wire due to rubbing issues and possible splitting the coating apart. (that's what you get when it's pouring rain and you're trying to get the job done)Back wiringFront wiringLearned a very nice lesson today. Don't over tighten things.Had a spare from another set.All three batteries are mounted down since I drive like a maniac and turn sharply and everythingAfter all is said and done. Monday- Friday I'll be doing all the cosmetic crap. New build coming soon. carshateme
Was at a ISSPL. Hit 147db max. Had an average of 139.6 on music since I screwed up the first 2 runs with bad songs. Now to trim some ground, add another battery, redo the box, buy another 3800 amp..lets blow some subwoofers New build coming soon. carshateme
Forgot to update this thread. So here we go. Some small issues here and there. UPS screwed up bad. One of the batteries were dropped causing a bulge on the bottom corner. Luckily, the seller offered to swap it out with a brand new one..Good guy. He's the one selling the Deka batteries on here. Another thing ups screwed up is that they dropped my amp as well, bending on of the corner, bent it back, looked at the insides. Nothing was rattled loose so all is good, seller also offered free repairs if anything came up from the damage. Well to the pictures: An over all pictures of the batteries, wires, rcas, blocks, dual inputs, another fuse box and my H11 12ks Here's the picture of the blocks and dual inputs. 10 inputs total per block Knukonceptz fuse block. I have another one in my car. Knukonceptz 2 y splitters/3 2meter rcas, 10ft of 8gauge speaker wire The H11 12k headlights Incase you were wondering why a 3rd 2 meter rca. This is why, I bought a Pac lc1 to put up front to control the gains of both amps. The beginning of the new amp rack. Yes..too many fans. Dont care. lol:runaround:There is 3 200mm fans on top, but I can't find the photo for the life of me The new headlights My 12k H9s. Damages to the battery: Still waiting on my recones from Craig and the VCi-1. Incase you dont know what a VCi-1 is..It's a temperature reader of your voice coils. New build coming soon. carshateme
I did however buy an entire new system and redid my electrical. New subs and amp are Soundqubed 4500.12 SQ 12" HCD3s D1sHere's some pics. First, let's start with the headlights. As the previous posts. I did get new headlight covers and 12K kensun HID. They're bright...I can tell you that. I cannot remember the amount of times I've been flashed by other drivers. And Christmas time Packed her all up for the road trip to get started Relaxed and had a beer before taking off in the later 27 miles on this one road. It's boring, but here's a picture of how bright the lights are. The enclosure tuned to 36hz Didn't need to charge them, but did anyways. So..running the wires under the car inside a pvc pipe. Not a good idea if you live in Flint, Mi. Pothole city. I had to replace the back 2 zipties 7 times. I had enough, so I decided to do it differently. Drilled 4 holes on the passenger side. Ran it under the carpet. Easy enough...not really. Pain in the arse. Couldn't get my seat out Was having issues with my bass fading in and out being loud one moment and getting soft the next. Found out the Pac-1 meter was a defect. Took that out of the equation and surprise. No more issues. Replaced it with the gain knob from the sq 4500 This setup is temp. I will be having the entire rear deck, back seat, and floor done in fiberglass with some custom art work (since I'm a fan of anime) I have a co worker who is really talented at drawing them. Another co worker has been doing custom fiberglassing for 30 years. He will be helping me out with the fiberglassing. Along with the light effects. Batteries are in the back seat (yes, those are 3 155ah Duracell procells, they're beasty, I will tell you that.) ....and yes the wires are a mess... A trunk shot. Enough room to stick my spare and tools in. Winning. Subs mounted and everything. Got out and noticed an error. The logo is facing the wrong way. :toetap: Problem solved. And silicone around the subs. Kept hearing air noises...thought that was the issue. Ended up not being the issue. Forgot to seal off the bottom of the box and air was gushing through from the trunk. Sealed off a bunch of other little holes going to the trunk...everything is good. Sounds fricking awesome too. Not tuned yet. Still in the process of breaking them in...so I'm running at low gains atm. Will be getting her tuned Sunday, but metered hopefully Saturday. New build coming soon. carshateme
Thank you. Still got a bunch of cosmetic stuff to do, but I'm gonna focus on one thing at a time instead of bouncing all over the place like usual. Car is due for a maintaince check as well New build coming soon.
