cgrez33
Why didn't you put a d3400 up front as well? Also for the plasti dip it's splattering because you were probably spraying below like 60-70degrees. What I do when the cans are cool is I run them under hot water and keep them there for a while so everything warms up then it sprays really smooth. Also I usually go with [light coat (50%) light coat, medium coat, wet coat, wet coat] when I spray my dip. lol..have you ever seen how cramped a g6 engine compartment is? xD Can't fit **** in there. Barely got that 925 in it. (Didn't feel like modifying anything) And I told this to another guy. The can was literally at room temperature. It was sitting in a 72-73 degrees polebarn ...would've still changed the color. Was way to dark for my liking. Maybe down the road I may do some upgrading to the front battery, but the stock battery was really dragging my electrical down, so I just needed a quick fix. I have a G6 lol with a D3400 upfront as for the plastidip I literally heat up all my cans under running steaming water before I spray them has helped me alot who knows what it could've been, just did some 24s today no splatter anywhere lol. carshateme
Well something really unexpected happened today.. received these by some chance..Emailed the owner and everything. Really fell in love with the subs when I saw them, so I figured since it was a shipping error, he'll let me test them against my zv3s to see if I like em. He agreed and if I like em, I'll just sell the zv3s and buy these ones. First off lemme tell you..one heavy sumofabitch. (Heaviest I've ever lifted, subwoofer wise) Weighing in at 65lbs. Took em out to see what they looked like. Really really good packaging job in my opinion. Spiders are stiff as hell as well. Tried to push the cone with my weight on my hands. Cone/spider hardly moved. So once I get those zv3s built. Gonna swap them out to see which sounds better. (Already have my doubts about the zv3s being louder) New build coming soon. cgrez33
I just had to cut a tiny piece of plastic that shaped like this |\ near the front of the battery its like less than half an inch lol. I cut it with a razor knife and it fit right in. Those DSS look mighty nice.! carshateme
Well like always, didn't get much done today. Ended up spending almost 3 glorious hours trying to get my box in. Let's see...had to cut off an inch from the top. Grind the corner pieces to a square, hammer the crap out of the bottom to get the center groves out, the chisel air hammer to remove the deadener on the bottom...and it goes on and on and on..But after kicking it about 20-30 times, it finally gave up and went in. That's after I broke a few things outside to take out my frustration. Hmm, I guess it really paid off to get a specialized router with a circle guide. Literally cut the circles at exactly 11.125". No movement what so ever. Might as well as take a picture of these two sexy beasts next to each other. Yup, here's where the fun begins, if you look, the deadener kept stopping the box on the bottom. The corner pieces where jamming the box as well. Didn't feel like taking any other pictures until I got the box in. Time to do the wiring Yes, the wiring is a bit of a mess, but it was getting late and I had to finish up really quick Fixed up some bubbles, sanded it down and put one last resin layer/matting on it. Tomorrow sand and bondo and sand some more. New build coming soon. Maybe I do, I just can't lock the battery down. New build coming soon. carshateme
Hmm, Don't really know what to say on this..didn't get much done again..but it's something I'm used to. Found out the way I had my battery wiring was all wrong. And it wasn't a smart idea to put a small amp on the bottom. Ended up redoing the wiring, wiring up everything, bondoing the door a little bit, found out the door wouldn't close. So had to do some modifications. Was gonna get atleast one door wired up and operational...but had to do something other things during the day. Good thing is..subs are in, playing and are tuned. Definitely need to fiberglass the box in so it doesn't move and put some deadener in on top...annoying rattle noise. Gonna need another d3400 or just sell one and go to 2 d3100s and a d3400 in front. Probably gonna switch alternator as well to Iraggi. We were tuning my system and my clipping is 60 which is not bad considering the headunit goes to 62. But could only get to 43 before throwing the amp into protect when playing a solid tone. That was the old setup^ This is the current one. No more wires all over the place. Probably gonna be getting up early to work on my car before I go to work to attempt to get it done before Saturday's show. New build coming soon.
