finkster
One is probably out of phase Do a pop test by taking + and - out of the amp and connect straight to ur battery The subs should move out together the same amount, if one moves in or not as much it has a coil out of phase or if it moves the same amount as the other in an opposite direction (inward) that sub is out of phase Why would that make one sub warm? While it may not sound good, they are both working just as hard against each other. Right? finkster
This is how your subs should we wired if you want to wire at 1 ohm like your sig says. DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living
finkster
OP I assume you have a multimeter to measure the impedance of the wiring and if you don't, go get one for 20 dollars at wal mart. This is a necessity to save the agony of guessing in the future. Anyhow, Check that stuff and report back. That sub will more less and get hot very fast If both subs are out of phase but coils are in phase They would more likely be getting hot at the same rate.... That's why I said both options.... Didn't read very well. i thought u meant 2 subs wired against each other not coils. Makes sense. truthsayer
He has them series and parallel each sub parallel and both subs in series 4ohms/2coils= 2ohmsx2subs=4ohms Make sense? Yea it was late as you can see, so my bad. But it would be each sub wired in series then both subs wired up in parallel. that would be the proper way for a 4ohm final load. I guess my statement at 1:00am was premature. truthsayer
carshateme
Could be a common mistake. I've done that before. Wired one sub in series and one in parallel. Well let's see what the OP says. New build coming soon.
