ok, so im just curious as to where i could start looking for HID lighting for my headlights or even if i need a new housing for the lights, i just wanna give my truck a newer look. ive been looking at the whole housing kits but they seem to be of the skinner style like in the new blazers, not the square one my truck has. just wondering if anyone has had any experience with blazers like mine and lighting

Heres what I would do because you're getting HIDs & for aesthetics.

-Take the stock headlights apart

-Paint the reflector/housing black

-Install a bixenon projector

-Get a silver shroud

-Put back together

-Install a pair of HIDs within the range of 5000-6000k

Haha.. no problem

Take the stock headlights apart (I just used my oven w/ a cooking sheet.. and tools to pry the lens from the plastic.)

Paint the reflector/housing black (I used high temp black rattle can paint from Home Depot, but you can get it from Lowes, Advance Auto, Autozone, etc. Make sure that it adheres to plastic.)

Install a bixenon projector (The Retrofit Source)

Get a silver shroud (The Retrofit Source)

Put back together (I used black DAP stuff from Home Depot thats made for plastic.)

Install a pair of HIDs within the range of 5000-6000k (XenonDepot/The Retrofit Source)

is it terribly difficult to get the projector to fit??

It depends.. If you use a Mini H1, no. However, using something like a FX-R or TL projector will take a bit more work.

Yes there is a difference between projectors. Some have better distance than others, while others cover more range horizontally.

What do you mean by "cool factor?" What do you want to look cool?

A bixenon is good for low and high beams.

i think its like what u said to paint the housing and reflectors black will make it look a lot better. i just plan on changing the front to HID's and get some LED ones for the back to have it look a little more stylish. i changed the bulbs in the lights already so they have a more bright white look but i want it even brighter and to look more modern. which i think what u described is what im looking to do haha
