Kyle Varner
2x skar audio zvx15 on a skar audio 2500.1 So about a week ago I was having a problem with my subs not getting enough power. Took them out of the box to test them, plugged em back in and BOOM! Back to full power.. Weird Fast forward a couple days. My subs seem to shut off when I turn up the volume loud. Only when the bass hits hard though. When I would reset the HU, the subs would work again UNTIL I turned the bass up loud again and my whole vehicle shakes. A day or so after this starts happening, they cut out completely. I've checked the connections to the amp and subs, and taken apart the console to get behind the HU and everything seemed fine... Kinda at a loss for what to do.. A lot of $$ sitting in my trunk, useless, at the minute.. Anyone have any ideas?

Jessica
So do you have them all wired parallel? If so you are at .25 ohms and that is bad. LoudBimmer
your amp is going in protect mode most likely. When you reset HU, it resets amp as well and turns back on.
Kyle Varner
Sorry strangeduck I don't know what that means? A buddy of mine hooked it all up for me, but I trust that he did it correctly because I've been running them for roughly 4 months now. 2007 trailblazer, stock alt I am always watching the battery gauge and have never had a problem with dimming or anything, but it is a stock ALT to answer your question
HHR Ed
Is the amp running at 1ohm? Your batt seems to be undersized for that amplifier. Voltage could have run low and amp shuts off or protection circuit engages, It resets when you power off/on the deck but doing this repeatedly could have damaged the amplifier. Especially if the voltage was too low. Kyle Varner
It's just weird as hell because literally NOTHING changed.. I just got loss of power one day (where the subs were still playing, just seemed way quiter) then I reconnected them @ the subs when taking them out of the box and it was back to normal.. Now all of a sudden they start cutting out and eventually (now) stopped all together.
Kyle Varner
I don't want to discredit the fact that it may be the battery/alt that led to a damaged amp, but it just seems weird that it would run fine with never showing any signs of problems (power wise)
