Chris617 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 I have 2 12" kenwood subs at 250 watts rms and a 500 watt alpine mrp m 500 amp. I want to know where my gain, bass eq, and lp filter should be at
Calibasshead Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 Set gain with dmm if you don't have a o-scope, DD-1. If you don't have either then turn off bass boost, and all EQs, and turn head unit up to 75-80%. Then pop in a 50hz track and slowly turn gain up until it sounds a little distorted. Then back it off a few. This isn't the proper way but it will get you close. LP should be around 80hz . It's probably a better idea to go and get a dmm if you don't have one and set it that way. O-scope or DD-1 is best but more expensive. or wherever you have your front stage crossed at. Hope this helps, I'm sure others will chime in.
