JustinWillmon
Just need a little advice. Made a thread here awhile back about my dad opening his second shop. Long story short it's going through and were almost done with the remodel and all that. Gonna be doing a grand opening sometime after Christmas. My question is what programs do you and your shop use to keep track of inventory, sales, etc. just trying to get an idea of what programs I need to look into. Any advice would be appreciated. JustinWillmon
Alright I appreciate the advice. My dad has had his shop for 25+ years, but hes real old school and has never got with the technology thing hah. With our new shop, were wanting to keep more inventory so I figured it would save us some hassle to have something in place to keep track.

truthsayer
I would ask what programs dad is using in his first shop. It must be some what successful if he is able to open a second shop. I mean why mess with a good thing? If it ain't broke, well you know. Don't fix it. truthsayer
Krakin
An increase in sales, much more product and all at another location. I would say get a program and while the employs, you, or whomever are getting past the learning curve make a copy of each sale the old way as a second form of tracking. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . JustinWillmon
Thanks for the replies everyone. In the current shop we have we don't have any type of inventory tracking system or sales. We do it all by hand and right out tickets for everything and then manually type them into the computer later on. For this shop we want to keep more stuff in stock and we have a dedicated showroom and everything, so I figured we should get with the times and get something in place. I don't mind doing it by hand, but I figured if we could make it easier on ourselves we mine as well.
