Audio Boffins
I've mdf my roof so wondering if be ok to screw my stripper pole to it rather than welding a bracket on up top. I could cut back a small section of the mdf and weld in a bracket in if necessary Will weld bottom bracket to floor though as easy to do once made brackets. Pioneerchuck
How is the MDF attached the the roof? The whole idea of the stripper pole is to keep the roof steady. So if the mounting surface is not stationary than you are defeating the purpose.
Audio Boffins
It is screwed and glued to batons which are also screwed and glued in to the chassis of the car. Followed by 6 cans of expanding foam to bond the whole lot together. The roof is approx 4" thick now and totally solid.
Pioneerchuck
Eh Id still have it welded to a roof support if I were you.
Audio Boffins
Yes I will weld up as I have looked again and ample space to weld a bracket up there. If you don't understand some of my wording, like for example screwed to chassis it is because I am English and we don't have separate body and chassis like you do. Our cara are monocoque designed (think this the right term)
Pioneerchuck
Being English has nothing to do with car design...Lol But what you're thinking of is a Uni-body car. Where the shell of the car is the frame. Now a days usually only SUVs and trucks have a straight frame and body build. Most cars are uni-body these days.
