CleanSierra
As far as length, to get the proper amount of port area, the port length will be long Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
JTeas
For a slot port also?
JTeas
How long should it be for 30hz with a slot port? And thank you
CleanSierra
With that airspace and that tuning, like 50+ inches. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Joe X
If we can believe Torres calculator it would need to be 68" in length 7net@30Hz with a 185 square inches of port area, the port itself would displace 8-9 cubes. How about that LOL.
shanesauce
That is the thing that doesn't make sense, you get into subs that have a xmax of 30mm and your port area and lengths go through the freaking roof. How can you meet in the middle between the "rule of thumb" 12-16 port area per cube and the xmax calculation? I am starting to think 20 inches of port area per cube is a happy medium at least in terms of the higher xmax subs. - 2012 Mustang 3.7 Manual - Audio under construction

How about that LOL. Haha, I knew it was going to displace a ton of volume. I never actually did a calculation, I was guessing in the 50s with crude math. That's insane though, if you want that amount of port. I have never realized that they had 40MM of Xmax. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
