Nice I really like the car! Also the rockwool would be lighter than all wood so seems like a great option! I didn't even think about it for builds, the cubes I use are from 1" to 3" cubes so never thought of it in big pieces, but seems like a great idea for builds! Keep up the good work bro I'm diggin it!!

Ive had a few designs running through my head and had a go on bb6 but cant decide how to do the box.

The rough internal sizes after being 3-4" thick around are 44" wide 30" high 32" deep.

Never done a 4th order before and after reading many threads on here sizes and designs vary alot.

Anyone got any ideas or tips.

Didnt spend long on it today only an hour or so.

Thought i would start off by mounting my 4 channel amps

After a bit of measuring i realised the big amp will be be touching them sitting above.

Dropped them down 3" now theres plenty of space.

With a bit of time left i quickly started cutting some side panels.

Oh i know how a 12v system works I did take 3 years of electronics in High school hands on and some in college and also worked on cars in college an always got A's to B's in each class.

But oh well enough dealing with ppl who have probably not even lived as long as ive been into electronics!

Not many pictures today but i thought i would try mount big amp although it didnt go that easy.

Had drill holes in these steel brackets i bought to line up with holes on amp which was 30mm centers.

Sounds easy but drill kept slipping so they didnt line up so just put few screws in and mounted it.

Will secure it even better in future but that will do for now.

That thin metal sheet in the middle has 2 layers of deadening on it yet i can still hear it vibrating at idle which has been driving me mad for ages.

Out with the grinder and now its gone. It didnt really affect the strength of the door so ive just saved some weight there.

Saturdays plan is to deaden the doors more by putting another 2 layers of 4mm on them so there really solid and the rear quarters aswel.

Todays plan was to get more sound deadening on my doors and rear quarters.

I got some new 4mm stuff to try they come in 1sqm sheets.

8bx1.jpg

vdi6.jpg

It probably didnt help i was doing it outside in freezing cold and these sheets need to be very hot to go sticky.

nmss.jpg

Learnt my lesson after these 2 bits and that is to do it in small bits as its easier to heat up and easier to stick in place.

Was getting pretty dark by time i had almost done one door so thought i would retreat inside the car with light and warmth.

ccrs.jpg

A light, heat gun, knife and sound deadening what a way to spend a saturday night.

Havnt really been doing much or taking many pics but i finished deadening my rear quarters and filled with insulation.

jxa0.jpg

I did start cutting some sides for the box but realised i need the roof finished first so heres another layer.

Spent ages trying to level up the roof with the floor but the roof slopes as it goes back so its still 40mm out of square.
