Nubcakeninja Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 just gotta be careful and do ur research, i had my first system installed by a shop and i had 2 old t1s on a db drive 2500.1... i thought it was a beast thing until i found out that theres no way that amp did 2500 watts lol it had 4ga inputs... and it was prolly getting hot cuz it was clippin even tho my installer used a dd1. my stuff got stolen and i went back to him, he wanted 500 bucks for the db drive amp and i had the new t1s, i knew my stuff now and i bought steve meades old t2500 for 500 bucks loland i can tell u, that t2500 prolly puts out double the db drive amp did. installers sometimes dont give all the info and just wanna make more moneys 1995 Blazer lt 4dr 2 t1d412s 1 t2500.1bd 4 polk audio door speakers 2 dash speakers(coming soon) 1 amp to run my mids and highs(coming soon)
GueroZ28 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Report Posted November 14, 2013 I actually am happy with it.. just the ported box took up way more trunk space than i thought .. eventually i want something bigger cuz i like when a car has a system.that can be felt from a good distance and i dont think this one is felt that much but its good for a start i guess... Is it possible for a sub box ported to be made a bit smaller? Width wise i want it to sit back as much as possible

He had 2 12in 1500watt bassinfernos in a ported box with a 1500watt bassinferno amp that sounded waaayyy better than mine but i mean he did spend the extra oney that is why eventually i ewanna upgrade

Nubcakeninja Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 just be careful to look at reviews of things and such before u buy em. when i went back after my stuff got stolen to get it replaced, i asked him if he knew if the db drive did rated, i had my questions cuz i thought there was no way 4ga wire could carry that much current and he kept tellin me as far as he knows it does 2500 watts and what not lol so i set up the appt to get my stuff installed again and before i went there, i bought that t2500 and def a huge difference, t250 doesnt get hot all day long and its a very nice piece of equipment and best part i got it for the same price he wanted for the db drive and its got steves signature on the back haha this forum has helped me install my own stuff from now on and it has helped me pick great equipment. most everyone on here is amazing lol 1995 Blazer lt 4dr 2 t1d412s 1 t2500.1bd 4 polk audio door speakers 2 dash speakers(coming soon) 1 amp to run my mids and highs(coming soon)
GueroZ28 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Report Posted November 14, 2013 Haha yeah on these forums i RARELY see anything about the common brands i hear of which are db drive, quantums, and kickers.. alot of people i know have those brands but on here i see abunch of brands ive never really heard of haha.. but d tronics is the main car audio store here and thats mainly all they carry... Maybe eventually ill buy something more advanced like everyone here
