Amperage draw at 4 Ohms vs 1 Ohm from amplifier

Hello all. my question can be put simply.

Does an amplifier(say, Sundown SAZ-3500) draw less amperage when wired at 4 ohms rather than 1.

In other words, Can you run a huge amp on shitty electrical( no H/O alternator) at 4 ohms aware of the fact that you get way less wattage, but with the piece of mind that your amp wont see too low of voltage? as the money rolls in so will the batteries and alternator.

Will 4 ohms protect me from the horror stories of voltage drop? until I can get an alternator under the hood. 4 ohms with low gain settings, no bass boost (of course), and relatively low volume on the deck?

Thank's to all

Make sure to set the gains properly, and what sort of electrical do you currently have? No HO alt, but what about your batt? And what sort of wiring do you have? 4 ohms will definitely be pulling a lot less current than 1 ohm, but you need to still make sure you can support the current draw that it will have

In short, Yes.

The amount of power in, is proportional to the amount of power out.

So if your amp is set to output a lower power level, it will consume less power.

Exactly how much, depends on a few factors but it can be significant.
