JustinWillmon
Looking for a new router as the one ive been using finally gave out. Im also wanting to get a router table as well, are these worth the extra cost? to they help with box building, templates, etc.? And does anyone have any recommendations on one. Tried searching but couldn't really find anything online from recently, and im sure new stuff has came out in the last year, so I figured I would ask. Any suggestions? Soccerballzs
Powermatic makes a shaper you can use for this. Has collett for bits. I made table out of mdf with Formica top. It has 3 Hp makita plunge routed mounted with dust removal system. It also has a 220 volt power feed for continuous runs. Size is 28x48 has drawers also.Been doing cabinets since I was18. Have shop with everything. Get router that will hold 1/2 bits less vibration and chatter. Power feed for continuous runs of stock. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
79 cutty
If you have the loot....and are willing to pop that much, I decided to upgrade to the Rockler table this summer with the router lift......AMAZING! Can't believe I wasted so many years without it! Lol. It was by no means "cheap" but if you watch out for sales I waited to pick this one up until they had the sale where I got the porter cable router with the table for free. I would bet come "black friday" or "cyber Monday" there would be some good deals to be had. Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it. Soccerballzs
If you are going to make woodworking projects raised panel doors etc. This table has its flaws. Being small it is hard to hold large stock on the top flat. You can buy the lift for these routers and construct your own cheaper plus add a powerfeed. Check out Wood Werks.com on internet they have everything you will nee to make your own. I make raised panel doors that can be over 6ft in height for pantries and the little table would not work to support the long pieces. Bigger the table top the safer the tool is. You do not want to slip and get gouged by router bit they will remove fingers fast. The little tables are great for first time buyers and novices. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
Soccerballzs
Here are some pics of my router table. Powerfeed most expensive part of tool. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/

I have found for the "car audio" application this table is great. Naturally there are very few situations within car audio where you are working on 6 ft pieces, or anywhere near that. But for trim panels, door pods, box accents, ect. I have found it to be more than enough and have been very happy with it and the results. Definitely different preferences for different people and their situations....but from a strictly car audio application I have very much enjoyed the upgrade from my crappy Craftsmen table. I will also say if I had the room and didn't need the table to be portable due to space I would 110% build my one table and make it larger, but with space limitations this has been a definitely upgrade while gaining a ton of performance!
