JNells Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 oh buddy updates on updates!Yessir! Hopefully get some install pics soon. I was going to try to gather it all and do it all at once but I'm too anxious for all that lol. Don't let that dog pee on your fabric. LOLHe's more of chewer than a pee'r lol! He was just giving it the sniff of approval. I also got my OBD2 adapter today, and with the dash command app it's awwwwwweeesome! I only went for a little test drive so it didn't generate all the diagnostic reports. But as a DIC and gauge cluster it works as advertised and is a pretty sweet feature. It streams via wifi rather than Bluetooth so i can still connect the PRS. And since my ipad is jailbroken I have an app for multiple networks. So all in all extremely happy so far! I got my DIC back lol Malibu Build Log

JNells Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 The OBD2 adapter I bought was less than $25 (eBay) and the dash command app was $9.99. It works on iPhone/iPod touch as well. There's a different adapter and app (Torque app) for android/Microsoft smartphones/tablets. But similar prices on both, just make sure to get the right one. Another cool feature is the diagnostic info.. Say if your check engine light comes on, it will give you the code for what's wrong. Works on most/all cars with OBD2 protocols (Kind of like CarMD). JNells Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 For the dash command app there are also different skins/wallpapers to customize the look/function of the gauges on the screen. There is also a racing feature to record 1/4, 1/8 mile times, etc, plus a lot more. Even tracks your route via gps to give you a real time look at your driving. It's kind of crazy and I'm blown away that all this is available in an app. Malibu Build Log
JNells Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Wrapped my center console arm rest in the micro suede Before: After: I glued a layer of 1/4 hi dense upholstery foam underneath the foam backed suede. Gives it a little extra cushion. I sprayed 3M 90 adhesive to both armrest and fabrics and then in weaker spots and along the edges I used some contact cement to give it extra hold. Came out half way decent for my first time wrapping fabric Malibu Build Log
JNells Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Also got my perforated leather vinyl in the mail.. I was going to use it on the armrest but the suede looked and felt better. Going to use it on pilars and a few trim pieces just to break up the textures/colors. Contrast. Malibu Build Log
