a21cuda
do you have rca's going into your amp?Yes, I have rca's going into my amp. plug those rca's into the dd-1. also, set the amp with the -5db track. Do you have this burning coil issue with the car running or car off? Are you sure you don't have the coils wired out of phase? Do you just plug them into the DD-1 one by one? The burning coil issue is with the car running and driving, and I'm almost positive I had them wired the way they are supposed to be, in parallel. a21cuda
Is it possible for the coil to be burning on the -10db track that I set the gains with, it with that showed no distortion? That's what is weird to me, that it would smell like burning coil on the track that I set the gains with.
SnowDrifter
If you play something with a bass line louder than -10db, your amp will clip. Clipping creates heat, heat makes the smell. So yes it's possible. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
