do you have rca's going into your amp?

Yes, I have rca's going into my amp.

plug those rca's into the dd-1. also, set the amp with the -5db track.

Do you have this burning coil issue with the car running or car off?

Are you sure you don't have the coils wired out of phase?

Do you just plug them into the DD-1 one by one? The burning coil issue is with the car running and driving, and I'm almost positive I had them wired the way they are supposed to be, in parallel.

just plug one rca into the dd-1. no need to check both.

And then you just play the 1khz track and turn the Headunit volume up until it shows distortion?

if thats what the instruction booklet says.

If you play something with a bass line louder than -10db, your amp will clip. Clipping creates heat, heat makes the smell. So yes it's possible.
