Painted black the tweeter pod probably won't stand out as much and look better. Once you cut that hole there is no going back. Ride around for a bit with them in and see if you can live with them not being installed. Any pics of the metal you treated behind the panels? Do they feel solid as fuck now that you deaden'd the plastic? Happy monday getting those in, Friday would have been better though. I got my lowering coil springs for the Lancer today and driver half sanded and ready for body work. Daughter is bringing heater switch tomorrow to install and i will continue working on the lancer all week until i leave for Vegas. I just need my damn struts & shocks to show up. Think about getting all LED's for the lancer since all the lights are out. Spend that shit like i am printing it off. lol I haven't done anything YET to the panel behind the kick. I will deaden it and CCF it as much as I can just like I did the rear of the kick panel pod. Yes they feel solid. They felt pretty solid before the deadener but now they are heavy duty. Beats the hell out of making my own. I also found a cool Toyota sticker to place on the tweeter pod. But after waiting for no answer from thedinger, I went with another brand. Wasn't sure how good they were and if they came in 2 ohm versions. Keep up the awesome work tho. The JBL tweets I got in the gto 5.25 component set sound better than the ct and I didnt need them in my wife's car so I used them. I was thinking about the dirt thing and the color of the kicks now are dirt color so it will hide it so well. LOL I got the bolts to mount them to the kicks. So now its time to get them mounted and installed. It did make my tummy fell better. lol So here are the pics. I installed machine screws with a big washer, small washer and a lock washer. I put the speaker gasket that came with the JBL 5.25s so seal the speaker against the kick. Then I wrapped the back of the speaker with a foam ring.
