oldsoundguy
Got my NVX sound deadener from Sonic yesterday. I installed it on the roof of the Toyota today. I have to say this stuff is thick and supper sticky. Went on very well. I am going to buy 40 more sq ft and redo my doors inside and out. And were ever I want to add another layer. I will aslo be adding some MLV that I got from work to the floor of the truck. Ya no pics cause I suck... 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Went to the parts store today and picked up three cans of Duplicolor rubberized undercoating. I used about a can and a half for each front fender well. It made a nice noticeable difference. Next is to do the under side of the cab of the truck. I want it super quiet in the cab of my truck. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

JNells
Nice tip on going thru amazon for the undercoating. Every penny saved adds up! Was planning on doing the same thing to my wheel wells and underbody when I do my suspension. Is that stuff fairly easy and straight forward to work with out of the can? Looking forward to seeing the new amp and setup with it. Malibu Build Log

Was pretty easy. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Well today I got my new CT Sounds 3000 and a case of rubberized undercoating. I got home from work and started taking out all the interior and carpet. Then I sprayed the undercoating into the rear panels over the sound deadener that was already in there. I used about a can into each one. Then I started cutting and installing some MLV I got from work for free. We use it to dampen the sounds from HVAC units. Its about 3/16th thick and is heavy. I installed it on the back wall of my cab, on the little extra cab shelf and the floor. I used aluminum tape to hold the pieced together along with some NVX sound deadener. After that I sealed up the holes in the rear panels were there used to be speakers. I took a piece of MLV and stuck it to the NVX and then over the hole. Came out real nice I must say. I have fans blowing in the truck to make sure everything is dry and gets the little bit of fumes out. Tomorrow I will run the 2nd 1/0 power wire and ground for the new amp and then I can install the interior and sub box back in the truck. I will order 20 more square ft of NVX to do the doors. After that I can get the second set of RE speakers installed. I sure hope this helps with road noise. I will also spray 10 cans of undercoating under the cab of the truck to give this three layers of sound deadening. Might be overkill but that's what I am all about. Click on the photobucket and you can see what I did today. Sorry they are not in order but hey I posted pics.LOL http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/oldboxman/66%20chevelle/Truck%20stuff/20140411_141555_zpscqf6fl49.jpg~original 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Well I spent the day today adding the second run of 1/0 power and ground with a fuse to the new amp. I reinstalled the carpet and rear panels and got both amps wired. I broke out the DD-1 and CC-1 and set the amps. The sub box weighs about 150lbs or more so I will have a buddy of mine come over tomorrow to help me put it back in. One thing I did today was get some spray foam and filled the bottom half of each rear panel area and them sprayed them over with undercoating to help with noise coming through. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
