oldsoundguy
I got home about an hour early from work today so I decided to pull the truck all the way into the garage and set the auto time alignment and EQ. First attempt ended in an error because of the noise of the fan on the Xdi amp. I took some closed cell foam and wrapped the amp to muffle the sound of the fan. It worked and I was able to try again. Everything sounded better after it was over. One thing I need to do is get a vibration out of the passenger door. The Focal puts out nice mid bass when EQed correctly and it vibrates the door and makes it sound like the speaker is blown. It isn't and I was able to find (I think) the vibration point. I will take it apart and try to eliminate it. It doesn't do it on the drivers side so all is good there. It did the same thing with the RE's in the door so maybe I should of tried to eliminate it then. I think I will start by putting sound deadener on the plastic part of the door where the speaker cut out is. Then try to place some CLF in strategic places to stop the vibration. I took the Baltic birch and laid out the box pieces. I will have a short day at work tomorrow so when I get home I will get it all cut out. I still have to wait 7-10 days for build time on the sub so I don't expect it for at lest 2 weeks so I will have a good jump on the build so when it arrives all I have to do is drop it in and it will be ready to go. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Got all the pieces for the new box cut out today. I then glued the port pieces together and pin nailed them. I let the glue dry for a bit then I assembled the box using counter sunk screws. Tomorrow I will break it all down. I will pre paint the port black before I assemble it. I am thinking I may carpet the box but leave the top of the box raw and stain and clear it. Iam still thinking about what I want to do. Here are some pics. Super raw but its a box. I will take pics after I blow it apart and reassemble. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

Its taller and deeper but not as wide. I wanted to make sure I had room on the end for the two batteries. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Today's box progress- I took the box apart, primed the port and put three coats of black on the port pieces. The only reason you see paint on the whole bottom of the box was to get all the paint off the roller after each coat. More work tomorrow. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
