oldsoundguy
went out this morning and started cutting speaker rings. I wanted as flush as I could so I used 3/4 mdf to cut both rings. Two are drying now and I will clamp the other two later. Got them layed out on the door panel. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Ok got one door panel cut, shaped and I am ready to cut the other side. I had to take 1/4 " off the top as you can see in the pics to clear the dash. I will fill that and feather it down to the edge with filler so you wont see the transition The stock panel is like that also. Then I can mark were the studs are going and drill those out. Getting close. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Nice wood working going on there, Might not need to fiberglass anything. Paint her up nice and call it a day. I am going to round over the whole edge of the panel. Then I will mount the speaker rings with the 1/4" dowels. I will have to stretch a little fabric to shape them into the panel but I will not go crazy with it. Simple is better to me. The finish will be paint but I just haven't decided on color or texture. I want to make it look as stock as possible and not to shiny. Maybe just a nice color match tan. I might just paint it with the same paint I used on the sub box. It will hide any imperfections if there are any. lol 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Well couldn't leave it alone. Had to do some more work. I cut out the other panel and then used my new flush cut bit to make them exactly the same. I cut out the speaker holes and did a round over on the edge of both panels. I also glued the speaker rings together as they will be that close together when mounted. I also did a couple test fits to see how I wanted it angled up. Then I took a pencil and traced were I wanted the fabric and glass to go and what shape I wanted. The next step is to locate the holes in the door for my studs. Then I can drill them out and epoxy them in. Then it will be time to glass and sand and bondo and sand and sand and sand and sand..... Love it... Been a busy day.. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
