Back the gain off a smidge and see if this doesn't resolve your issue.

And if it still does it then I will hook up a new amp and see what that does.

I will try that but it's like 1/4 way on as it is. My HU has 5v pre out so it don't need to go up far at all

Would check that your grounding point is on there strong. I have seen wires slip out of crimps and cause this issue as well so i'd be sure to give everything a good tug and make sure it's good. Since you have a meter I would compare your voltage from the front battery to that of the voltage on the amp itself as you shouldn't see much over a few tenths if any drop. Most of the voltage drop comes from a bad ground. To measure ground you choose ohms and touch both probes and record what it reads then you touch one end of the probe to your ground on the amp itself then one on where it's grounded to chassis. Now subtract the reading you had when touching the probes. If it is anything greater than .02-06 then look into a better ground. Make sure to wiggle while testing the ground as well as sometimes a loose wire won't reveal itself until you try to pull through it.

Thanks for the info, I will do what you say tomorrow. And Check all the wires. Only other thing I can think of is that I have my remote wire off my (red) switch wire on the HU, think it could be dropping from 12v and making the amp turn on and off?

While I have seen more crazy things happen. I have my doubts on this since the amp wouldn't pull power any differently than it did in the past if you've had it wired this way the entire time. The only thing this keeps telling me is to check spots that tend to be rattled loose by bass cause if it were anything else then you would have noticed much earlier.

.

Right on, I'm going to just have to hook it back up and get the meter out and see my volt drop and check wires it looks like. Man I hate problems...
