And probably dirty as shit....

Be carful ....

Can confirm. Have hooked up multiple phones with tone generator apps to my oscope and it was crazy dirty. I had the amp from a bass guitar amp plugged into the other channel because I was trying to figure out how the pickups on two different bass guitars where picking up frequencies differently and it was just totally unusable. I couldn't even start to identify anything. I did not get to use an iphone, but there is a lot of relevant info here. http://www.kenrockwell.com/apple/iphone-5/audio-quality.htm

I use a program called SineGen to generate all my tones. It's pretty simple, works well, and is free. The developers website disappeared though. I tried to find a download link but there was too much crap to wade through so I uploaded it here. I don't know if it is the latest version but it is the one I use. No installer or anything just runs.

Here is the VirtusTotal report so no one thinks I am trying to screw them. It scans the file with a ton of different antivirus programs at once:

I use audacity to generate tones and burn them to a disk. You can get exactly what overlap you want using the amplify effect.

once you get a speaker moving so hard that its possible to make tinsels slap, you are already kissing "SQ" goodbye. :D

Don't get me wrong, as I smoke Marlboro Reds, but if I saw one more kid with that smug-ass look (Look at me I'm smoking indoors) on their face, I was going to shove that thing so far up someone's ass that they'd look like a hillbilly trying to understand quantitative prediction theorem.

You know why people are ass holes online but not in person? Because getting punched in the mouth hurts.

Speaking of 40hz test tone. I have a function generator that we used at my Electronic school to generate sine wave, square wave, sawtooth waves, etc. And also adjust the frequency of the waves. I wonder if it works on car audio. The function generator have a bnc output and I happen to have a bnc to rca cables. Imma try it one of these days.
