Deeznutz
no, the log was upside down, and one of the VC's were not connected. I zip tied the connecting wires to the sub chassis. I asked him about this "I don't know anything about that?". Later he said one of his friends looked at it for him. lol. whatever. lol. Deeznutz
THE SYSTEM IS FINALLY INSTALLED. TOOK ABOUT 9 HRS. Since it took a few wks to get the system installed, I went ahead and surfed ebay and changed out the amps for Crossfire. Bought a VR1000D and VR302 for the mids and highs. For about an hour I kept thinking the RCA pass through was bad on the VR1000D. Than the VR302 must have been bad. Turns out it was the damn used Monster Cable XLN 4 channel RCAs that was bad. Damn it lost $25.00!!!!! The box took me several hours to make and carpet. I think I put in $70 for the box and $10 for the scrap carpet. I wonder how much a custom box like this would have cost me. The fix it absolutely perfect!!!!! I wish I could have recessed the amps and covered them, but that would be hard to do with the given air space. I did the BIG 3 Since the stock 4 gauge wire covering was rotted. Looks like some of the copper in the OEM wire had some aluminum in it. (?) I had him do all the grunt work like pulling up the carpet and running the wires. Wiring the radio. Ripping off the door panels. lol. Hey, he's 19, I'm not! He was amazed at the shitty OEM UPGRADE "INFINITY" crap for speakers his truck had. He was amazed at the RF's screaming out the highs, and the RF's slamming the lows. lol. We had a long talk towards the end of the install. "Son, you now have "A SYSTEM", not a radio, not a stereo........ (High lights of the conversation below) NO SHOWING IT OFF. DO NOT TELL PEOPLE WHAT IS IN THE TRUCK. If they ask , "WALMART SHIT". If the ask again "TELL'EM TO DROP IT, NEXT TOPIC". DO NOT ADJUST THE SETTINGS. Anything over 35 (volume tops out at 40) and the Panasonic CQ-C8413U CD player skips. Saving grace for me. lol. Not one sarcastic comment, not one smile. It was a nice serious man to man talk. His father is not around. I never had a son. I am his role model. He looks up to me. It makes me happy to see him happy. -Frank

AK bass
My grandpa helped me buy my first system about 2 years ago, a fi btl, and a kicker 1000.1, everything worked fine till last summer, blew the tinsel lead. I paid for the recone myself because I blew it. If he breaks it again he should have to replace it. He is grateful to have a role model like you.
