mmotux
So I have a problem... I have a 300 watt 2 channel ap running my mids and highs... The problem is that one connecting each speaker to a channel (2) one of them is louder... I have Isolated the problem by switching the speakers. SAME PROBLEM! So it must be the amp or something. If someone could help it would be awesome! Thanks!
03 Xtreme Fosgate
Hmm,what is your source unit and how are you getting signal to the amp? RCA's or LOC? Cardboardcat15
If it's not the speakers themselves, it sounds like a signal issue. My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15
Buy a new HU! Or possibly replace the RCAs. I would swap them out with new RCAS and if the issue disappears, then its the RCAS. if not, its more than likely the headunit/amp. Assuming you have both channels hooked up properly to the speakers themselves, here's what I would do to troubleshoot. 1. Check ALL connections. 2. Check speakers with a DMM and make sure theyre reading proper impedance. - if one side is higher/lower impedance than the other then that's possibly your issue 3. Swap RCA's with new reliable ones. -obviously if the problem goes away then your RCA's were faulty. 4.If problem still persists even with new RCA's, check HU output voltage with a DMM. Use AC voltage setting on DMM and probe one channel on the RCA's. -If the voltage doesn't read your listed prevoltage for the HU then it's the Headunit. 5. If everything above checks out, chances are it's the Amp. Test the AC Voltage from the amp. When you check the RCA & Amp AC voltage make sure to use a test tone. This is what I personally would do to troubleshoot. Hope it helps. My Channel on YouTube.
