Brent Anderson
little info I would not mind to hear but how much does the wires do ball park pull in rms for OFC in size? 1/0=? 2/0=? 4/0=? not talking about brands or anything just a ballpark of how much they can place out. SQ SUBARU
Maximum rms wattage for each. 0 GA. 330 amps, class AB 2731 watts, class D 3414 watts 2 GA. 208 amps, class AB amp, 1720 watts, class D 2151 watts. 4 GA. 131 amps, class AB 1084, class D 1355 watts. Say if you are running 2200 watts rms class d then you would certainly use 0 gauge, otherwise you risk the wire heating up, causing a fire. Also fusing with the correct size is also important as the wire size too. Ipad mini as main source unit, w/ Kenwood KDC-U7056BT,Digital Designs CS6.5 2 way components, Alpine PDX-F4 4 channel & PDX-M6 mono, x1 Jbl P1224 12", single ported box @ 34hz, front doors + trunk sound deadened w/ dynamat xtreme, all knukonceptz wiring/fusing. *In progress - Audison bit ten d dsp, fully optical. Miguels
i say go with what the manufacture recommends. all wire is not the same so any input will be incorrect my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

Wow you totally just pulled those numbers out of your ass didn't you?Just so you know a 3414 watt amp at 70 percent efficiency will draw 403 amps at 14.4volts that's assuming there is no voltage drop which we all know there will be some. Op wires are rated In amps not watts and to determine how many amps your system will pull is easy math. Just remember as your voltage drops your current demand will go up so always go with a bigger wire or more runs than You think you will need. Also each brand has a different rating for their wire they are not all created equal. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Brent Anderson
not talking about 4 or 2 gauge. asking 4/0 gauge or 2/0 gauge. not 4 gauge or 2 gauge smaller then the 1/0 gauge 4/0=0000 gauge 2/0=00 gauge 1/0= 0 gauge your talking about 4 gauge... and 2 gauge smaller then the 1/0, 2/0 and 4/0 gauge. Brent Anderson
I was looking at welding cables. and seen the 4/0 gauge in person. huge but just wondering how much they all put out ball park
Broke_Audio_Addict
All wire company's have a rating for their wire and it's in amps not watts. You need to determine how many amps your system will draw. Miguels
we cant give you numbers.. chances are you will get cheap wire and burn your car down.. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

No I didn't accually, http://www.bcae1.com/wire.htm From this website, which the amount of current can safely flow through the gauge wire with a 0.5 voltage drop. But it's a generalised table, but things will change in the real world, and depending if the amplifier is regulated or unregulated, or if it draws the same amount of current depending on the voltage.
