Need Help Wit Remote Wire

i no its a dumb question just never did it so my question is i wanna put a toggle switch to all my amps (4 total) how can i go about it my remote lead off the head unit is no longer there ( my daughter ripped it out of the plug and no need to get another one cause its a pre amp unit only a few wires) so i no it has to be a 12volt source but what is a good spot to tap into (98 jimmy) i dont want the amps on all the time just want them on when the car is running or the key is on accesories and be able to turn some of the amps off/on i no how to run the toggle switches just wanna no how and where to tap into thanks

go for the radio fuse the one located in the fuse box you can use that

yea tryin to use something else cause i have alot of tvs and they might be ran off that to thanks though

just go to the fuse panel and tap in ??

if you have a test light test the empty pins in the deck harness turn deck on and off to find the 12v out for turn on usually you will have another wire in harness not being used like a illumination on power antenna u can pull that extra wire out of harness and plug it into the remote turn on hole in harness then connect your amp to that or you can usually get a replacement harness for deck from a stereo shop.

Id find a main ignition wire, and scotch lock off that (so your not splicing major wires).

Then just use the ignition wire to turn on a relay, then run everything off a relay.

Relays are your best bet anyways when running more then 2 amps since their is not much power going through the remote wire on a deck (even tho your now missing it)

Since you said your running tvs, and 4 amps off the remote wire, Id also fuse it at atleast 15 amps, maybe 20.

I soldered 8gauge power wire right to my relay for my regulator. Theres no such thing as overkill

ok thanks ans as far as a new harness theres no point cauise the radio harness onlt hass four wires coming from it its a pre amp radio

im not running my tvs off the remote wire and what do u mean scotch lock off

3m Scotch loc connectors can buy them at Wal Mart, Just about any hardware store..
