jcnash71 Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 hey guys i just recently installed a new hid 6000k kit into my 2003 saab 9-3 headlights and foglights. they were the amazon brand jlm, decent quality for my budget but i have a problem..anyone with experience in this please help me! but anyways the problem the HID's do not work. well actually, they do work when the car is on and i unplug the ballasts, wait 5 seconds and then plug them back in, but if i don't touch anything and just try and start the car normally they don't work, neither do the foglights. i know my car has the annoying "always on" feature where i cannot turn off the low beams no matter what i do, but the fogs do have a on/off switch. anyone have any ideas as to how i can get these to work normally? as of right now i have no headlights or fogs since they went and were replaced. many thanks to anyone who can give any suggestions

White Lightning Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 You vehicle's wiring is not designed to handle the current from ballast ... and you have 4 of them (to my knowledge) ... Installing a relay in between your vehicle's wiring harness and ballast will allow you to pull power directly from the battery and not your vehicle's wiring harness ... alaskanzx5 Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Could it be that the ballasts require more power then the stock wiring is providing and so it doesn't want to turn on? Either way cable guys suggestion should fix it. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
