everybody i know that has sundown amps (including 200.4's) say they're fantastic amps. that they've never had an issue. even running a 200.4 at 1 ohm on all channels.

Ive heard both, good and bad about Sundownz.. Definitely mostly positive though. Shit, other companies even successfully use the proven boards from older Sundown amps

Yes, but I posted in hopes to avoid shipping it off to be repaired...

Same here. I had no complaints about their products until recently.

Anyway though, I don't want this to turn into a bash thread and get locked so does anyone else have ideas what I could be looking at inside the amp? Looking over everything blindly has gotten me nothing...

So it seems the problem being caused by the crossover section. My guess is one of the switches or pots was corroded internally. It was the only thing I hadn't checked on the amp so I switched the filter to full and channel 2 immediately turned on. I switched it back and forth a few more times and did the same with the other adjustments on the HPF side and it's been fine since. So I'm hoping it was just some small low voltage part that had some corrosion built up. Keeping my fingers crossed....
