Sundown 200.4 not playing nicely...

Need some advice...

I got a 200.4 that has channel 2 intermittently turning off. Its NOT the RCA's, the HU, or the speakers....ive narrowed it down to being internal. I opened it up the other day and saw nothing visibly wrong and nothing loose. Put it back in and it worked again....for a day. It is random as far as when it is working.

Any ideas what it might be? The amp has never been abused, its used to actively run some pro audio kids and tweets. Im the original owner and its given me no problems in the past few years until now. Before I have to ship it to get repaired I'm hoping someone might have some ideas or have had the same problem. Thanks guys

What happens if you wiggle the RCAs on your head unit, then on your amp?

Swap your speaker wire on channel 1 and 2. See if the problem follows the speaker or the channel

Tried it all. Even ran RCAs to it from a different HU in a different car.

I had this same thing happen to mine a while back. Sent it in to get repaired, got it back and it began the same shit a little after getting it back. Jacob refused to warranty the recurring issue, which is why I'm like "Fuck Sundown" now.

What was the result of wire swapping?

Do you remember what the cause of it was?

I was actually gonna sell the amp but luckily this shit happened before I did otherwise id feel bad. I'm slowly moving away from Sundown. After being one of the (un)lucky few with a SAZ3K and SP4 combo that caught on fire....I been switching to RF amps. Pricey stuff but I like the quality a lot better. Not to mention I went from a 146.6 with the SAZ3K to a 148.4 with a 2500bdcp.

I don't remember exactly what failed, but I ended up selling it as is (2 channels not working) for a huge loss. Its all archived somewhere in this forum, I even caught a short vaca for bashing Jacob.

Its a beast amp, but I'm sure there is a reason the 200.4 isn't produced anymore.

everybody i know that has sundown amps (including 200.4's) say they're fantastic amps. that they've never had an issue. even running a 200.4 at 1 ohm on all channels.
