exc500 Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Trying to decide which to use. I have a 2009 chevy silverado and have all componets front and rear and am wanting to use some mid bass speakers in rear . I'm running four t2d212 's and a soundqubed 3500.1 for subs. I have access to many memphis amps but I love the clarity of the xtant. Could I use the mono channel to run the mid bass speakers seeing as the xtant's mono channel can be crossed over either high pass or full range. Any suggestions or is this a no brainer?
exc500 Posted January 18, 2014 Author Report Posted January 18, 2014 I know I'm new here but I thought I'd at least get a little input . I've been installing audio equipment for years and I kinda got out of the loop and many brands I'd swear by now days are nowhere near what they used to be. I'm trying to hook up a pretty decent system in my truck and I was just hoping for some advice.thanks for any one who takes a second and tells me what they think.
jk13 Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 The very definition of a vs. thread. Before the lock I'd say: Mid bass is better in the front and for darn sure better in stereo. Would need to know system setup and speaker locations including potential mid bass driver locations to truly answer. Static drops are my bag.
exc500 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Actually I believe Im going to run some 8" drivers in the lower portion of my rear deck. I have removed the back seats and rebuilt the back area with my amps mounted on back wall and the floor I leveled out all done out of .75 mdf. I have the lower part of the floor is big enough for some 8's. This is at feet level then the 12's are above this part. I've re done the back area of a 2009 z71 xtra cab. Just finished it this weekend and am pretty happy with results. I'm using the xtant for all mids and highs and the mono channel running the 8's which are crossed over at 80hz that's their low cut off frequency and they play up from there my other components which are 2 sets of 6.5's front and rear with an xtra set of tweets in the rear. Currently I'm only running 3 t2d212's off the soundqubed 3500.1 .I still have some tweaking to do and of course its never really finished but for now I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
